George Best Manchester United 1971/72 Players Pass for George Best numbered no. 46 it contains training rules and players instructions together with the 1st team fixtures plus 2nd team fixtures. Chapter 14 states that players must carry the pass and show it to the gateman at all Home Matches – instructions from F. O'Farrell Manager. The last page states the holders name is G. Best and to the holders signature is penned the George Best hand signed autograph. Note: The United security man always insisted George produced his players pass. Over the season this sometimes turned into laughter when George found he had forgotten his pass and could not find it in his car. The security man stuck to his job but George always managed to treat the situation lightly as he was always given entrance to the stadium. At the end of the season George handed his pass to the man on the gate with the quip “you obviously need this more than me”.
