Rare 1908 London Olympic Games Opening Day Programme - for 13th July in the original paper wrappers, together with general rules for each of the sports, prizes, officials et al - the opening ceremony commenced with the grand parade of athletes at 3 PM followed by the opening of the Olympic Games by his Majesty the King at 3:30 PM. This was followed by a further eight sporting events which included athletics, swimming, tandem, and last but not least Event no. 8 Cycle Polo Match - to the rear there are lists and details of all the previous sports records together with eight pages of sporting and other advertisements - some slight pocket wear and folds, some minor staple rust, some results and written in pencil otherwise overall (F/G)
