Albin, Eleazar ‘A Natural History of English Insects’ First Edition 1720 Illustrated with a Hundred Copper Plates, Curiously Engraven from the Life; And (for those who desire it) Exactly Coloured by The author Eleazar Albin, Painter, printed London, and sold by William and John Innys at the West End of St. Pauls 1720 contains dedication to Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, list of subscribers, engraved colour plates are individually dedicated subscribers, well-known personalities, and those who acted as patrons or took an interest in Albin's drawings of insects and some dated 1713 onwards, accompanying each plate is a printed text extract, with the exception of the ninth and tenth plates which have been hand scripted in ink rather than the remaining printed plates, leather bound, with gilt to spine minor marks and speckled foxing scattered throughout pages, most generally in clean condition, covers are worn, tear to spine with heavy wear and crumbling, pages are intact, otherwise an interesting copy with very readable and presentable pages
