1932 Essex vs Yorkshire final result scorecard and photograph – this remarkable match saw Yorkshire's opening pair Sutcliffe and Holmes set a world record partnership for any wicket of 555 - the protected score card was mf&g by Terry Logan who took the original photographs for the Calendar Girls – overall 11.5 x 8” also comes with an original photograph of Herbert Sutcliffe and Percy Holmes going out to bat mf&g overall 12” x 10”. Note This opening partnership remained the world record for any wicket till 1945–46 and it was not until 1976–77 that it was beaten for the first wicket. It remains the record partnership for any wicket in England. Sutcliffe's share of the stand was 313, his career highest score. Yorkshire batted first and, at the end of the first day, the score stood at 423–0, with Holmes on 180 and Sutcliffe on 231, already beating their previous best stand of 347 against Hampshire in 1920. Bill Bowes and Hedley Verity then proceeded to bowl Essex out twice and Yorkshire won by an innings and 313 runs each taking nine and ten wickets respectively.
