Note: Born in Bala 1889 John Hugh Evans, represented Wales 8 times, and at the time was the first Cardiff City player to be called up for Wales squad. A speedy winger who was rarely off form, Evans possessed a cannonball shot and was nicknamed the ‘bala bang’ after the fearsome power in his shots. So powerful that after breaking the hand of one goalkeeper, one of his shots knocked out a Manchester City goalkeeper.
