India – Letters of Maharajah of Kapurthala. Correspondence of the Sikh princely state of Kapurthala, Punjab, includes a signed letter by Maharaja Jagatjit Singh on Crested paper to Raja of Gondal asking him to submit a handsome contribution for the statue of King George V at New Delhi to commemorate his recovery from illness. A copy of the reply from the Raja of Gondal is inserted with him pledging Rs.2000, includes two receipts for payment. A further ALS by Jagatjit Singh thanks the Raja for his cheque, and informs him that the statue is to be in marble as proposed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Also a signed receipt for the cheque by Jagatjit Singh.
