Napoleonic Wars – St Helena Medal good example with original certificate issued to Brigadier Nicholas Champion 2nd Hussars. It is a family tradition that Champion was one of the 100 Officers who accompanied Napoleon to exile in St Helena. However, the medal was issued to those combatants during the Napoleonic Wars from 1792-1815, of which Champion was definitely one. The medal, struck in Bronze, features the effigy of Napoleon to obverse and the legend ‘A ses Compagnons de gloire saderniere pensee St Helene 5 Mai 1821. The medal was issued during the reign of Napoleon III.
