Wales – Barmouth fine ms document written on 22pp large legal folio dated 1830 being a contemporary copy of an Abstract of Title of William Williams to the fee simple and inheritance of the Passage and Ferry of Barmouth with the Ferry House and all the messuage and lands called Tyddynllan in the Parish of Llanaber. The document contains details back to 1718 when the passage and ferry were in the possession of Edward Holland of Conway who on his marriage in consideration of his wife’s marriage portion released them into the hands of trustees which included Richard, Lord Bulkeley, and Viscount Cashells in the peerage of Ireland. The ferry, which operated across the Mawddach Estuary to Fairbourne, is still in operation today.
