Jim Sullivan another Welsh man who again was regarded as one of the greatest rugby players of all time joined Cardiff in 1919 as their first choice full-back at the age sixteen. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday he turned out for the Barbarians – he then turned professional for a record fee ?750 joining Wigan in 1921and went onto captain Great Britain
