Note: Sir Frank Aubrey Newsom died in 1964 and was a British Civil servant notable for serving as Permanent Under-Secretary of State to the Home Office from 1948-1957. In 1948 it was announced Sir Alexander Maxwell was to retire and Newsom had been appointed to follow him as Permanent Secretary to the Home Office
