Very rare set of 1929 Open Golf Championship bound programmes and original handwritten…

Very rare set of 1929 Open Golf Championship bound programmes and original handwritten manuscripts - played at Muirfield and comprises a complete set of 5 programmes issued on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (1st Rnd), Thursday ( 2nd Rnd) and Friday (final two rounds) and includes all the pairing sheets for each day and printed results. Each programme has an appeal for the local Children's Hospital, two of which were written by Ian Hay, two by John Buchan and one - the final day - by Bernard Darwin. The compiler of these programmes retained the original manuscripts from the three contributors, as well as their notes of thanks signed by all three but Bernard Darwin's signature has been cut from the end of his contribution otherwise fine. The programmes complete with their covers and the manuscript material are all bound together in a quarter leather / red cloth binding - quite remarkable collection and in such good overall condition to incl illustrations from the Life Association of Scotland Calendars by Michael Brown, numerous golfing advertisements et al overall (VG) Note: This was the first year that the R&A produced an official programme
