Roe, Frederick RI: RBC (1864-1947) A GOLFING CARTOON watercolour on paper with touches of body colour, signed - image 9.75"x 6.75" - overall 17.5 x 14.5" depicting a caped golfer and a Scotsman with a barrel and a bottle of whisky. Note: Frederick Roe was a painter in oil and watercolour of portraits, military and historical subjects. He studied art at Heatherley's and under Seymour Lucas. Exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1887 and elected to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours 1909 and Royal British Colonial Society of Artists 1920.
