Early Auchterlonie St Andrews longnose light stained beech wood play club c1885 - the dropped toe head measures 5.25" x 2" x 1 3/16" with period half leather face insert to the toe portion of the face, and similar length horn sole replacement, shaft stamped F H Ayres below the original thick hide grip with underlisting. Note - David and Willie Auchterlonie set up in business in 1893 having served their apprenticeship with Robert Forgan from 1865 onwards hence the club was possibly made as replacement
