This octagonal nine-storied structure is a very popular place for the endearing story of a little child named Atal Rai. Born to Guru Hargobind, the sixth Guru of the Sikhs, in 1619, he was said to have been blessed with supernatural powers. One of the earliest photographs of this important monument of the Sikh to come to the market Provenance – from an album of a British traveller who visited the Punjab exhibition in 1864.
