&quotIndia – Historic Drawing of&nbspMaharajah Ranjit Singh and his Sikhs 19th century. A most remarkable drawing of Maharajah Ranjit Singh and his Sikhs. Drawn in 1871 by Frank Freeman&nbspafter the original by G E White. Titled ‘Irregular Sikh cavalry’ – the drawing in fact is that of Ranjit Singh and his entourage. The drawing was first published&nbsp (lithograph) in 1845&nbspjust before the outbreak of the 1st Sikh war, by the artist&nbspG E White, it was originally titled&nbsp'Runjeet Singh and his Suwarree, or cavalcade of Seiks – encamped under a banyan tree on the river Sutlej' Measures&nbspapprox 11&quot&quot by 8&quot&quot. Ranjit Singh's court was one of the most magnificent in India, particularly when the Maharaja wished to impress&nbspvisitors.&nbspThe drawing was most likely used for a publication during the late 19th century, as the original by G E White was no longer available for use. Also with the original hand coloured engraving&nbsppublished 1845. A scarce and important&nbsp19th century drawing&nbspof Ranjit Singh and his Sikhs.&quot
