Gandhi a hand woven linen shawl. The linen in this shawl is made from thread which Gandhi spun himself. Approx 52x44ins, some age wear and small patches of staining, but otherwise in good condition. Along with Gandhi’s spectacles, the hand woven linen shawl is without question the most iconic image of him. Provenance: From the house in India where Gandhi lived his life Palm Bun at Juhu, from 1917-1934. It is featured in the book ‘Sumati Morarjee – Felicitation Volume, Bombay 1970.
