Ephemera – celestial chart Transparent Chart of the Heavens for the latitude of Great Britain, showing the stars visible on any night throughout the year, no date but probably mid 19th c, printed on a single card approx 29x23cm, with the entire central section printed with punched holes for the stars and tissue backed. In this way, when held up to the light the viewer has a view of the heavens. A clear forerunner of the planetarium concept. Together with a similar card based on geology – this bearing the date of 1849. Slight browning and scuffing to both, but otherwise in remarkably good condition considering age and nature of the items.
