Jacobites bronze plaque, probably late 18th c, showing a Scottish highland couple, both dressed in tartan with the man playing the bagpipes. Unusual. The wearing of the tartan and the playing of the bagpipes was specifically banned after the 1745 Highland Rebellion, and this plaque may represent either a defiant gesture or signify the easing of the restrictions on such practices. Approx 8cm diameter, set on a welbet backing
