George V’s doctor in his final hours. Medical/Royalty two rare documents issued by the Lord Chamberlain’s Office the first dated May 7th 1910, printed document with ms insertions, being a Warrant of Appointment for Bertrand Dawson MD to be one of the Physicians Extraordinary to His Majesty [George V]. Signed by Lord Althorp to base. Fine condition. With original envelope. The second dated May 29th 1914, printed document with ms insertions, being a Warrant of Appointment for Bertrand Dawson MD to be Physician-in-Ordinary to His Majesty [George V]. Signed by Lord Sandhurst to base. Together with a decorative certificate issued by the American College of Surgeons appointing Dawson as a Fellow. Dawson was the physician who attended George V in his final hours in January 1936 – an event which now attracts a measure of controversy and considerable medical debate.
