James II ‘Loyal Parliament’ printed proclamation on a single leaf of paper dated July 2nd 1687, announcing that the Parliament was dissolved. This was James II’s only parliament, dubbed the ‘Loyal Parliament’ because it was full of his supporters. It nominally ran from 1685, but effectively only sat in its first year, feeling increasingly uneasy with the King. He prevented it from meeting again, and once it was dissolved there wasn’t another parliament until he fled the country during the Glorious Revolution in 1688
