Hitler’s plans to invade Ireland – WWII – Adolf Hitler a complete set of the German…

Hitler’s plans to invade Ireland – WWII – Adolf Hitler a complete set of the German plans to invade Ireland, comprising the two photo books, covering the North and the South Coastlines, and approx 10 further documents including detailed maps of the country including Dublin and Belfast. Rare. Despite the fact that Ireland remained staunchly neutral during WWII, Hitler clearly had a well researched and detailed plan to invade once he had conquered the UK mainland. Hitler was no respecter of neutrality, as he proved in Scandinavia, and Ireland would certainly not have escaped had the brave young men of the RAF not destroyed his plans during the Battle of Britain. From Hitler’s point of view it was logical to extend his influence over Ireland – he could not have settled easy without the whole of Europe being under his grasp and the fact that Ireland could have provided an allied base for resistance and eventual retaking of a conquered mainland Britain was far too risky. Original plans for the invasion of Ireland are rare. We have only seen one other set, sold in these rooms in 2012.
