Ireland – Fianna Fail a scarce poster advertising the final rally of the newly founded Fianna Fail party to be held at Pearse Square, Youghall on Sunday May 27th [1927] at which the prominent speakers would be Corry and Moher. Scarce. Very few, if any, other copies of this poster exist and the present example is in remarkably fine condition considering its age and history. This was the first election at which Fianna Fail took part. Martin Corry (1890-1979), one of the two speakers here, was also a major figure in Irish Republicanism, being a senior commander of the Cork No 1 Brigade of the Irish Republican Army during the War of Independence from 1919-1921. He also played a leading role in the Irish Civil War of 1922-23).
