Autograph – Isambard Kingdom Brunel The Plays of Shakespeare 1847 edition, vol 7 only (of 8), bearing the signature Isambard Brunel with the date May 21 1848, and with the bookplate of ‘I Brunel’ (son of Isambard Kingdom Brunel) ‘Balliol College, Oxford’ to inside cover. Original boards detached, interior contents appear good. The plays in this edition are Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, Cymbeline, Titus Andronicus and Pericles Prince of Tyre. It is most likely that the signature is of Isambard Kingdom Brunel rather than his son, as in 1848 the son was only 11 years old.
